Riverside Public School Hosts an Exceptional Aeromodeling Workshop with Dr. M.R.K Menon and Introduces Astronomy Club
Attention all aviation enthusiasts! Riverside Public School, the best boarding school in Nilgiris, hosted an amazing Aeromodeling Workshop on the 21st and 22nd of April. We were privileged to have Dr. M.R.K. Menon, the Founder of Global Aerosports, ISRO Space Tutor, and Master Trainer in Aero-Space Technology, as our esteemed guest.
The workshop was an incredible learning experience for all attendees as Dr. Menon shared his extensive knowledge and expertise in the field of Aeromodeling. Along with informative sessions, the workshop also included hands-on development of aeromodels. Our students got a chance to put their newly acquired knowledge and skills to the test as they worked on constructing their very own miniature aircraft. They were able to experiment with different designs and materials and learn the importance of precision and attention to detail when building an aeromodel.
To further elevate the excitement and competitiveness of the workshop, a competition was conducted where participants had to showcase the flying capabilities and maneuverability of their models. It was inspiring to see our students put in their best efforts and showcase their hard work and creativity.
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Dr. Menon for taking the time to conduct such an exceptional workshop and for encouraging our students to explore the fascinating world of aeromodeling. Your invaluable knowledge and expertise in this field have left a lasting impression on our students, and we are grateful for the opportunity to learn from you.
Additionally, we are excited to announce that Riverside Public School, the best school in Kotagiri and the best boarding school in Nilgiris, will be hosting similar events every month. In the coming academic year, we will also be starting an astronomy club, and students who are interested can join the same. We are proud to say that Dr. Menon donated a Celestron AstroMaster 130 telescope to the school for starting the club.
The workshop was an incredible opportunity for our students to gain insight into the world of aeromodeling and learn about the various techniques and skills involved. Overall, it was a highly enriching and memorable experience for everyone who participated in the workshop.
We are committed to promoting learning and exploration in the fields of aviation and astronomy and will be hosting similar events every month. So, if you missed out on the recent Aeromodeling Workshop, don’t worry, there will be more such events in the coming months.
It’s amazing to see the creativity and ingenuity of our young students! During the Aeromodeling Workshop, one of our Grade 4 students, Yadavi, was able to construct the first 3D model aircraft given by Dr. Menon, and that too within the given timeframe! This is an incredible achievement and a testament to the skills and potential of our young learners. We are proud of her achievement and look forward to seeing more such incredible work from our students in the future.
Moreover, in the upcoming academic year, Riverside Public School, the best school in Kotagiri and the best boarding school in Nilgiris is starting an Astronomy Club. This club is open to all students who are interested in exploring the fascinating world of astronomy. Members of the club will have the opportunity to learn about the cosmos, observe celestial bodies, and participate in various astronomy-related projects and competitions.
The Astronomy Club is an excellent opportunity for students to develop a deeper understanding of the universe and expand their knowledge beyond the classroom. Moreover, being part of the club will help students develop important skills such as teamwork, communication, and critical thinking.
But that’s not all! The school is also planning to host an astronomy event later this year, which will be open to all students and members of the community. This event will feature talks by experts in the field, hands-on activities, and opportunities to observe celestial objects through telescopes.
